BrightSign LFN (Local File Network)

 Setup Local File Network access on your BrightSign media player. 

Wireless Connection

1.     Obtain wireless network name and password. Password can be omitted if network doesn’t require one to connect.

2.     Open BrightAuthor

3.       Go to Tools >  Setup BrightSign Unit

4.       In the Setup BrightSign Unit module

a.       Add Player Name (Optional)

b.      Add Player Description (Optional)

c.       Under Network Properties

                                                               i.      Click the Enable wireless checkbox.

                                                             ii.      Add Network Name

                                                            iii.      Add Network Password. Do this step only if the wireless network requires a password. If the network is open leave this blank.

d.      Under Unit Configuration

                                                               i.      Click the Enable local web server checkbox

                                                             ii.      Click Enable Update Notification checkbox

                                    iii.   Click Networked with Local File Networking radio button

5.     Create Setup Files
Note: Insert a blank SD card to computer.

6.     Remove SD card from computer and Insert to BrightSign player.
Note: Player will confirm once the LFN is setup. The player will reboot automatically.

 

 

Wired Internet Connection

1.       Obtain wired network name and password.

2.       Open BrightAuthor

3.       Go to Tools >  Setup BrightSign Unit

4.       In the Setup BrightSign Unit module

a.       Add Player Name (Optional)

b.      Add Player Description (Optional)

c.       Under Unit Configuration

                                                               i.      Click the Enable local web server checkbox

                                                             ii.      Click Enable Update Notification checkbox

                                    iii.   Click Networked with Local File Networking radio button

5.     Create Setup Files
Note: Insert a blank SD card to computer.

6.     Remove SD card from computer and Insert to BrightSign player.
Note: Player will confirm once the LFN is setup. The player will reboot automatically.

 

Publishing Content

1.       Go to Publish tab

2.       Go to Local Network

3.       Under Publish go to Networked Units

4.       Select unit that schedule will be published to

5.       Click Publish

 

NOTE: The BrightAuthor network and the BrightSign player need to be on the same network in order for LFN to work. BrightAuthor uses its current network connection to pull BrightSign player IP addresses.
